“Nothing is going to happen:” Milford tiny homes project put on pause

MILFORD, Del.- The potential tiny homes village project in Milford has officially been put on pause.

Back in January, the city started looking into the project to support the growing homeless population. The Springboard Collaborative was set to spearhead the project and the city would secure the land.

Mayor Archie Campbell told us that the operational costs for the project would exceed $1 million. It’s money he said the city doesn’t have. “We could bring the tiny homes in and be faced with having to put those people back out into the woods potentially after two years. We’re not going to do that. Until the funds become available from an operational standpoint, nothing is going to happen in Milford,” Mayor Campbell said.

Mayor Campbell added that they will not look into any rate or tax increases to support the project.
