Local foundation carries on the legacy of Capt. Bryan Lewis, offers scholarships to aspiring paramedics
DELMARVA – The Salisbury Paramedic Foundation is carrying on the legacy of fallen firefighter, Captain Bryan Lewis.
The beloved first responder now has a scholarship in his name called the Captain Bryan Lewis Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Vice President of the Foundation, Debi Hammel, said the scholarship will help support aspiring paramedics and the foundation is hoping to attract more well-rounded, community driven firefighters, like Captain Lewis.
“I think we want a scholarship to help people get started in a career, but we also want to raise more Bryan Lewis’s,” Hammel said. “We also want people to also aspire to work to the same dedication he showed.”
The foundation is accepting donations through checks, with hopes of offering the scholarship annually. Donation checks can be mailed to the Salisbury Paramedic Foundation at 325 Cypress Street, Salisbury, MD 21801.
