Halo Shelter in dire need of food donations
SALISBURY, Md.- Halo Shelter in Salisbury desperately needs donations for their pantry.
Halo is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community for 17 years. They serve free meals and provide case management to individuals experiencing homelessness. The shelter serves three meals daily: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The shelter’s Executive Director, Celeste Savage tells 47abc the shelves of their pantry are almost empty.
“One of the greatest needs that we have is our canned goods,” Savage said. “Vegetables, peas, string beans, corn. You know the realization of like the small cans it takes about 42 to 45 of those cans a night to be able to serve a meal.”
The organization is also asking for dairy products such as milk, butter, and cheese.
