Good Morning Delmarva discusses the annual chocolate 5k run
47ABC – Delaware Tech’s highly anticipated Chocolate 5K run is this Saturday, February 10th.
This is the annual event’s 12th year and they say they’re expecting a big turnout.
John Buckley, Dean of instruction for Delaware Tech, sat down with us to discuss this special event.
He tells us it’s a great way to celebrate the Valentine’s holiday – with their valentine’s themed contest and awards!
But most importantly, it’s an easy way to support the Terry Campus Student Emergency Fund which helps their students in need of an extra hand.
The emergency funding can go towards issues with housing, medical expenses, auto issues, and much more.
And beyond just costumes or the run, there will be an assortment of chocolate treats waiting for you after the 5k.
Buckley says it’s a great way to support the students in their culinary arts program.
The entry fee is currently $35 until February 7th then it will be $40.
Registration the day of the race opens at 8am and the 5K run and walk starts at 10AM.
