Dover teenagers arrested for theft of a motor vehicle
DOVER, Del. – Two teenagers from Dover have been arrested for several felony offenses after attempting to steal a Kia from a residential driveway Friday night.
Delaware State Police say they received reports of two suspicious males dressed in all black attempting to break into vehicles in the neighborhood.
Troopers say they saw a Kia Sorento with a shattered window and the ignition ripped out of a car parked in a driveway on Winding Carriage Lane.
Police say they made contact with the two teenagers who fled the scene, but later were taken into custody.
A search of the teens led to troopers discovering both of the teens were in possession of a screwdriver and a USB cable.
Both suspects have been charged with resisting arrest and theft of a motor vehicle.
The 13-year-old teen was charged and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released into the custody of his parent.
The 14-year-old teen was charged and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released into the custody of his parent.
