Delaware State Police arrest Milford man on 6th DUI

LEWES, Del. – A Milford man is facing his 6th DUI after he was found asleep at the wheel Thursday night.

At around 9:30 p.m., troopers responded to the intersection of Conleys Chapel Road and Beaver Dam Road for a report of a driver asleep at the wheel in the intersection. Troopers made contact with the driver, identified as 53-year-old Robert Fanning, and observed signs of impairment.

Following field sobriety tests, Fanning was taken into custody, at which time troopers found heroin and drug paraphernalia on his person.

Fanning was held at SCI on a $12,401 cash bond.
