City of Salisbury offers prize incentive to local artists
SALISBURY, Md. – The city of Salisbury is encouraging everyone to put their artistic skills to the test.
The art contest will award a $10,000 prize to a local artist who is chosen by the art committee, to have their work showcased in downtown Salisbury.
Director of business development, Laura Soper, said the art contest will not only create an outlet for artists to express themselves, but it will also bring vibrancy to the community.
“Local art really elevates the community, so we’re really excited to open it [the contest],” Soper said. “We wanted to make the process as open as possible, so it will be vetted by our public art committee, which was recently formed.”
The deadline to submit an application is February 29th, at 5PM.
