Car damaged in Magnolia shooting, police investigating

MAGNOLIA, Del. – An investigation is underway following a shooting in Magnolia.

At around 3:30 a.m. Friday, troopers were called to Bayhealth Hospital Kent Campus to meet with a woman who reported that her car had been shot at. It was learned that the woman was reportedly sleeping in her car in the 100 block of Terry Drive when she was approached by two men wearing masks. One of the suspects allegedly tried to open the car door, at which point the victim drove away. As she drove away, the suspects shot at her car, hitting it several times.

The woman was not injured.

The motive behind the incident remains unclear. Police are asking anyone with information on this incident to contact Detective T. Ford at 302-698-8569.
