Appeal filed in Cpl. Heacook murder case

DELAWARE – The attorney representing Randon Wilkerson has filed an appeal for his conviction in the murder of Delmar Police Corporal Keith Heacook.

Wilkerson was found guilty and sentenced to two life sentences plus 221 years in prison in late 2023.

The Delaware Department of Justice released the following statement to 47 ABC on Thursday regarding the appeal:

“While we regret that Cpl. Heacook’s family and fellow officers have to continue watching this play out in the courts, we are also completely confident in the strength of State’s position, the Superior Court’s ruling, and the conviction.”
