Adam’s Tap House gears up for boom in business during Superbowl Sunday
SALISBURY, Md. – It may be gloomy outside, but one local business isn’t letting the weather rain on its parade.
Owner of Adam’s Tap House, Peter Roskovich, geared up for the busy Superbowl Sunday, with hundreds of pounds of chicken wings.
“Orders have been coming in really good the last few days,” Roskovich said. “We’ve been prepping for a lot of wing orders and the phone is still ringing today as well.”
Maryland may still be feeling the pain since the Ravens didn’t make it to the Superbowl this year, but Roskovich is still looking forward to the foot traffic that the event is set to bring to his establishment.
“We’re open all day in house, so people have been coming in and watching the game as well,” Roskovich said. “We have a couple big 49ers groups coming in to watch the game, so that’s a good thing.”
You can’t have a Superbowl party without wings.
For the last two days, dozens of people have been putting in their wing orders in bulk. Roskovich said the goal is to sell 400 pounds of the party snack this year.
“People have home parties and invite guests over, so when they do that, they’re not normally cooking for themselves,” Roskovich said. “You can’t cook wings at home, really, so it’s a lot better for us to cook it for them.”
Looking forward to the boom in business, hostess, Sophia Overholt, was the hostess taking those orders.
“I’ve been mentally preparing myself to come in today, because I know a lot of people were ordering the 5 pounds or the 10 pound deals that we have,” Overholt said.
And while the restaurant may get a little hectic during the game, Overholt, said she’s ready to tackle it head on, and surpass all their sales goals.
“That’s when I thrive, is when I have something to do,” Overholt said. “I like dealing with customers; it’s kind of fulfilling because at the end of the day, I can see how many things I’ve done.”
