UPDATE: 81-year-old Millsboro woman dies following early February crash

2/20 UPDATE: Police have identified the victim in this crash as 81-year-old Sylvia Deleon of Millsboro.

LAUREL, Del. – Delaware State Police say a woman injured in a crash earlier this month has died from her injuries.

The crash took place at around 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Police say a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt was stopped at a stop sign on the east side of Camp Road and Sussex Highway. At the same time, a 2008 Dodge Charger was traveling southbound in the left lane of Sussex Highway, approaching Camp Road, when the Cobalt reportedly pulled out into the path of the Charger.

The driver of the Charger, a 57-year-old Laurel man, suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash and refused treatment. The driver of the Cobalt, an 81-year-old Millsboro woman, was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. She reportedly died as a result of those injuries on February 17th.

This crash remains under investigation.
