$1M grant supports new Beebe Healthcare facility in Long Neck
LONG NECK, Del. – Beebe Healthcare is now $1 million closer to expanding primary care access in Sussex County.
The healthcare system recently received grant funding from Highmark Delaware. Those dollars will go towards their new clinic in Long Neck for the Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Joyce Robert with Beebe told us that the family medicine specialty offers services for people from all stages of life, addressing various acute and chronic conditions.
Dr. Robert said that the two-story, 18 exam room facility will fulfill a need for more services in the growing area. She added that the residency program will also help address the current workforce shortage. “An interesting fact is that about 50% of the physicians stay where they train for the residency. We have a pretty good shot that once we train our physicians that they have good chance of staying in the Beebe Healthcare,” Dr. Robert said.
A groundbreaking event will be scheduled for later this year.
