13th annual “Chefs for Habitat” making big return
SALISBURY, Md. – Habitat For Humanity of Wicomico County wants you to grab your masquerade mask and save your appetite. The 13th annual Chefs for Habitat is making a return.
This year’s theme is Mardi Gras. The night will be filled with live music and food from 22 chefs across the shore.
Organizers said the event is also one of their biggest outreach efforts and they’ve already raised more than $16,000. Those dollars are pumped right back into the community, supporting habitat’s mission of increasing affordable housing access. “Our affordable homeowner program, which most people are aware of, helps build or renovate houses at a low cost with low interests for families in need,” HFHWC Development Director Christina Williams said.
“We also have a critical home repair program where we serve existing homeowners who may be struggling or getting older to make sure their houses are safe.”
You can get in on the fun Saturday, March 2nd at The Wicomico Youth and Civic Center. Ticket can still be purchased at the civic center’s box office.
