Sussex Central ends Smyrna’s 6 game winning streak
GEORGETOWN, Del. – David Maker’s go-ahead layup with 35 seconds left helped Sussex Central take down Smyrna 54-50. The Golden Knights ended Smyrna’s 6-game-winning streak.
Smyrna led by seven at the half and by four after three quarters. But once the fourth quarter began, the Golden Knights were able to claw back into the game. Sussex Central tied the game up at 46 and then both squads traded buckets until David Maker scored a field goal to give the Golden Knights the lead that they wouldn’t relinquish.
Sussex Central moves to 7-3 on the year. Smyrna falls to 9-3 after the loss.
