SOMERSET CO., Md. – Somerset County Public Schools have announced an inclement weather plan as a storm is expected to bring heavy rain and wind on Tuesday.

To avoid prolonging the school year with the addition of make-up days in June, the next three weather closure days will be converted to asynchronous virtual school days if needed. Asynchronous virtual school days do not include live instruction and will not require a home internet connection. Before dismissal on Tuesday, students in grades Pre-K3 through 2nd will receive paper assignments, and 3rd through 12th grade students will receive assignments in Google Classroom that will be downloaded to their school-issued devices.

In order to be marked present on an asynchronous school day, students must complete and submit the provided assignments.
