Salisbury Men’s Lacrosse ranked number 1

SALISBURY, Md. (Salisbury University) – After returning to the summit a season ago, the Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team was picked first in the 2024 Inside Lacrosse Men’s Division III Preseason Rankings as announced by the organization on Tuesday.Tufts, Salisbury’s foe in the 2023 title game, ranks second in the poll. Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC) rival Christopher Newport holds third, while RIT and Dickinson round out the top five in fourth and fifth, respectively.The Sea Gulls finished the 2023 season with a 23-1 overall record, rattling off 20 consecutive victories to complete the campaign highlighted by a 17-12 triumph over the Jumbos in the season’s final game. Salisbury returns 42 student-athletes from the championship squad.Salisbury will play five games against Inside Lacrosse preseason Top 20 foes in 2024. The Sea Gulls are slated to host No. 9 Gettysburg and No. 10 Lynchburg while traveling to face No. 3 CNU, No. 11 York (Pa.), and No. 19 Cabrini.The 2024 season commences on Sunday, Feb. 4 with a neutral-site contest against the Berry College Vikings in Concord, N.C. slated for noon. The home slate opens with a battle against the Grove City College Wolverines on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.
