Officials working to bring wind procurement proposal to life
DELAWARE. – The First State is looking to enhance wind energy.
DNREC officials have been trying to find ways to mitigate the environmental impacts in Delaware, and with that came the wind procurement proposal.
Director of climate and coastal energy at DNREC, Dayna Cobb, said the organization is exploring the possibility of partnering with neighboring states to make the plan come to life.
DNREC is hoping to make the procurement as cost effective as possible, but they need input from the public to make it happen.
“This is the very first step in saying that we’re looking to put our foot in the door,” Cobb said. “We’ll make sure that we have a lot of input on it from public stake holders, and we’re also educating Delawareans as to where they can tap into this process.”
