New youth prevention center opens in Denton

Denton, Md- His Hope Ministries of Denton Maryland will be opening their new youth prevention center on Thursday in Denton.

‘The Spot’ will provide a variety of services to those from the age of thirteen to twenty five.

Visitors will have a place to socialize, participate in recreational activities, and even take classes where they will be able to learn new life skills.

We spoke to Youth Program Coordinator of His Hope Ministry Desiree Jefferson, who spoke on the importance of facilities like the spot here on the Eastern shore:

“In a rural area like the eastern shore there’s not a lot of stuff to do, so when kids get bored then tend to do things they are not supposed to. So its important that they have a place like this where they can come, hang out and do things that are age appropriate.”

The Spot is scheduled to open its doors on Thursday the 25th, and will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m at their address at 103 Gay Street in Denton.
