New Delaware legislation looks to improve safety of public schools
Delaware- New Legislation in Delaware looks to boost the safety of public school facilities across the first state.
Senate Substitute 1 for State Bill 270 will establish a evaluation and assessment system for the Delaware Department of Education which would help school districts determine whether a school facility is in good condition.
School districts would receive the facility assessment tool, and be required to complete that assessment annually in May.
This assessment will help determine which school need repairs
This legislation also set forth air quality monitoring measures and set standards that will need to be met in schools across Delaware.
