Milford man arrested for assault following stabbing

MILFORD, Del. – A Milford man has been arrested following a reported stabbing Monday evening.

Just after 7 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the 500 block of Truitt Avenue for a reported assault. Officers met with a 38-year-old man at the scene who was suffering from a stab wound to his lower back. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in stable condition.

Further investigation led officers to identify the suspect as 23-year-old Jhaizhir Luke, who was located in the area of the assault and taken into custody.

Luke was charged with first degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited. He was held on a $20,500 secured bail and issued a no contact order with the victim.
