Laurel PD arrest fugitive during apartment search warrant
LAUREL, Del. – A search warrant in Laurel Monday evening led to the arrest of a fugitive.
At around 7:45 p.m., officers were working patrol when they saw 23-year-old Daniel Stanley walking into an apartment in the 100 building of Hollybrook Apartments. Officers went to the residence and tried to make contact with Stanley but were unsuccessful. Having seen Stanley enter the apartment without leaving, officers stayed at the scene while a search warrant was obtained and executed. At this time, Stanley was found hiding in a bedroom closet.
He was subsequently arrested and served with his active warrant out of the Laurel Police Department for identity theft and theft under $1500. He was also found to be wanted out of the Kent County Superior Court and New Castle County Family Court.
Stanley was arraigned on the Laurel PD charges and released on a $2,500 unsecured bail before being transferred to the Department of Corrections Violation of Probation Center.
