Gov. Moore announces grants to help address Maryland’s nursing shortage

MARYLAND – Governor Wes Moore has announced $2.8 million in grants from the Maryland Higher Education Commission’s Nurse Support Program II to help with the state’s nursing shortage.

The new Nursing Faculty Fellowship will help support the need for more nurse educators critical to getting students out of the classroom and into the state’s healthcare system.

A total of $2.45 million is being awarded to ten universities and community colleges in Maryland, including Salisbury University and Wor-Wic Community College on the Eastern Shore.
