Good Morning Delmarva discusses national passenger safety week
47ABC – It’s national passenger safety week which is aimed at promoting safe driving practices and preventing unsafe ones by empowering passengers.
David Reich, director of public relations for the National Road Safety Foundation, sat down with us to discuss passenger vehicle incidents specifically in Delmarva.
He tells us deaths involving passengers is steadily increasing, but we should really focus our attention on teens.
Teens are inexperienced and can become easily distracted.
David says parents should warn teens of the dangers of texting and driving or not wearing a seatbelt.
Reich also says passengers can play an important role in preventing crashes.
He says that voicing your concerns are crucial.
Many people can feel afraid to speak up, but he says it could potentially save your life!
