Fire at Millsboro Rehabilitation Center deemed accidental

MILLSBORO, Del. – A business fire that broke out in Millsboro Thursday night has been ruled accidental.

The fire was reported shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the 26000 block of John J. Williams Highway. Crews arrived at the scene to find smoke coming from a structure at Cadia Healthcare Renaissance Rehabilitation Center.

State fire investigators say the fire was caused by an unspecified electrical malfunction at an electrical power strip. The building’s automatic fire sprinkler system contained the blaze.

Total damage has been estimated at $2,500. No injuries were reported.
