Federalsburg residents concerned with water pressure outages

FEDERALSBURG, Md. – The town of Federalsburg has experienced problems with their water supply following a power outage that happened Friday afternoon.

The outage shutdown the town’s emergency notification and water pressure system, and because of this, the town did not know about the issue until residents reported it.

Town Manager Kristy Marshall says they have reached out to some local and state agencies to provide community members with anything they need

“We have purchased water.”

“We were donated lots of water from the neighboring communities and organizations and it is available at the fire house right now if someone would like to go up and get some water. we have bottle water available.”

The town also released a boil water advisory late this afternoon saying loss of water pressure increases the risk of contamination in the distribution system.

They also say repairs are being made and water service should be restored sometime this evening.
