Emerging Leaders: Erna Benjamin
47ABC – It is Monday and that means it time to introduce you to a new emerging leader.
Erna Benjamin is a skilled crafter who was recently named January Crafter of the Month by the Pine’eer Craft Club.
Erna tells us she truly loves crafting and has been doing it all her life. She has even pasted the skill down to her children.
We sat down with her and Kelly Davis, the publicity officer for the Pine’eer Craft Club, who emphasized just how much Erna does for the club and reiterated why she was so deserving of this achievement.
Erna says crafting lets her relax and gives her time to think about life as pieces such as a quilt top can take about 10 days.
She says she was nervous to do an interview, but her family especially her two boys encouraged her to showcase her work.
She says she feels honored to be named the January Crafter of the Month and was floored when she heard the news.
The craft club includes pottery, jewelry making, dolls, and other craft ideas but Davis tells us Erna’s variety of work made her stand out.
Daivs says many of Ernas crafts end up in their gift shop which is open on the weekends.
She encourages anyone interested to join the club.
You can also visit them at the august craft fair, the holiday craft fair, or visit their facebook page.
