DSP arrest suspect in connection to November convenience store robbery

DOVER, Del. – A Dover man has been arrested in connection to a November robbery.

On November 6th, troopers responded to the Shore Stop located at 2636 South State Street for a reported robbery. Troopers met with an employee, identified as 21-year-old Jeremiah Weatherspoon, and learned that an unknown man had walked into the store and demanded money while implying that he had a weapon in a backpack. The employee complied, and the suspect fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

Further investigation revealed that Weatherspoon provided false information to police and had coordinated the robbery with two other people while working his shift at Shore Stop. Warrants were obtained for his arrest, and Weatherspoon turned himself in on Friday, January 5th.

Weatherspoon was charged with wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, theft over $1500, provide false statement to law enforcement with intent to delay/hinder investigation, tampering with physical evidence, and second degree conspiracy. He was later released on his own recognizance.
