Crisfield secures funding to bring new youth center to the area

CRISFIELD, Md. – After Seven years, the ‘It Takes a Village’ organization has finally raised enough funds to bring a new youth center to Crisfield.

The organization raised over $2 million needed to bring the center to the area.

Executive director, Darlene Taylor, said not only do the kids of Crisfield deserve the youth center, they need it.

She added the new addition will help children explore their interests and will mold the learners of the future.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of resources here in Crisfield for our youth,” Taylor said. “They need an opportunity to develop their gifts and their talents and to find their place in this world.”

Construction on the project hasn’t started yet, but Taylor is hopeful that it will be completed this year, or mid next year.
