Crews battle early morning fire at Long Neck apartment building
LONG NECK, Del. – An investigation is underway following an apartment fire in Long Neck early Friday morning.
Just before 2 a.m., crews with the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company were called to a reported fire in an apartment building on Havard Avenue at the Carillon Woods apartments. It was reported to be a single room fire at the time of the report, caused by a reptile tank catching fire and spreading to the room.
Residents were evacuated, and efforts to accommodate evacuated residents were considered. We’re told at least two unit occupants would be displaced as a result of the fire.
Delaware State Fire Marshals are investigating the fire.
