Cambridge house heavily damaged in fire
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – A Cambridge home was heavily damaged after it caught on fire Friday morning.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m., firefighters responded to 2124 Silver Goose Road for a reported house fire. 55 firefighters responded to the 2-alarm blaze, which took roughly 90 minutes to control.
Two occupants were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Fire marshals determined that the fire began on the rear porch and was caused by combustibles being too close to a heater. Total damage has been estimated at $150,000.
