Baltimore man sentenced for 2022 armed robbery in Ocean City
WORCESTER CO., Md. – A Baltimore man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for armed robbery.
The incident took place on November 18, 2022, in the area of Dorchester Street in Ocean City. The victim reported that he was standing near his vehicle when he was attacked by a group of three men. One of the men allegedly pulled out a silver semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the victim’s head before hitting him with it while demanding money, car keys, and a cell phone. The suspects then stole the victim’s vehicle and other items and fled the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment for a laceration he received as a result of the assault.
Officers located the stolen vehicle as it was fleeing out of town on westbound Route 50. The vehicle eventually crashed in Cambridge, at which point police identified the passenger, Davarn Leach Jr., as the robbery suspect. The victim’s car keys and debit card were found in Leach’s possession, as well as a silver handgun that had been reported stolen from another vehicle in Ocean City earlier that same day.
