Annual Heacook Fest set to return this April
DELMAR, Md.- Over in Delmar, a date has officially been set for the third annual Heacook Fest.
The event honors the life of fallen officer Corporal Keith Heacook, who was killed in the line of duty back in April 2021.
Organizers said you can expect the same live music, plus food and craft items from local vendors. We’re told this year will be more family oriented with activities more geared towards children such as a kid’s corner and pony rides.
The event remains free, but funds raised will go to support countless of local charities. ” There’s organizations like Behind the Line, which is a local organization that really focuses on the pure wellness of first responders. Also, Operation We Care,” Organizer Doug Marshall said. “It’s not many places you can go, and someone doesn’t know his name. His legacy is going to live on in a very tangible way.”
Since 2022, the event has raised close to $200,000. The festival is set for Sunday, April 26th at the Kylan Barn from 5-9 p.m.
