USPS offering shipment tips for guaranteed delivery this holiday season
DELMARVA – We’re just a little over two weeks away from the Christmas holiday. As you’re packing up your gifts to ship off, USPS officials say they’re prepared for the holiday rush.
USPS Strategic Communications Specialist Mark Wahl said they’ve hired upwards of 10,000 seasonal employees.
To avoid any delays, he advises customers to write legibly and have the correct address information. They also have a new shipping option this year called ground advantage, which has a mail-by date of December 16th for guaranteed delivery.
Wahls also provided us with some important dates for you to keep in mind to ensure your packages make it before Christmas. ‘December 16th is for the greeting cards and first-class packages to get to your loved ones. December 20th is what we’re promoting for priority mail,” Wahl said. “December 21st is the day for our procrastinators but we still got you covered. That’s the last day you can get priority mail express, or premium service, guaranteed to your loved ones.”
USPS has also announced that there’s no surcharges this holiday season.
