Traffic stop leads to numerous charges for Dover man
DOVER, Del. – A Dover man is behind bars on charges stemming from a traffic stop Saturday morning.
Shortly before noon, officers stopped a vehicle in the area of South State Street and Loockerman Street for committing several traffic violations. During the stop, a police K-9 reportedly alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to a search of the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, officers found a sawed off shotgun concealed underneath a book bag, in addition to drug paraphernalia.
The driver, identified as 35-year-old Anthony Ciferni III, was charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a destructive weapon, and various traffic charges. He was held at SCI on a $23,003 cash bail.
