Traffic expected on US 50 bridge into Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Maryland Department of Transportation will be starting 24 hour construction on the Route 50 bridge near Ocean City.

The construction will begin January 3rd on the bridge over the Sinepuxent Bay.

Two eastbound lanes and east bound sidewalks on the bridge will be closed off to create a safe work zone for the crews.

Shantee Felix with media relations for MDOT says traffic will be maintained on the west side of the bridge, so expect traffic delays when entering Ocean City.

“Well, this is an active work zone, so while they are out there, you will see the orange cones and the barrels. We just advise people to allow extra travel time and slow down while in the work zone.”

Construction will continue until early March.
