Police caution against holiday partying if underaged

DELMARVA. – The holidays are in full effect, and that means college students are back home.

While some may want to go out and party since they’re back home, the Fruitland Police Department cautions you, if you’re under aged.

Corporal Zachary Douglas said if you plan to go out to the bar or club with a fake ID, you should think twice.

Presenting a fake ID, at an establishment that’s 21 plus can put yourself and the establishment at risk of trouble with law enforcement.

“The places that you’re getting into that might not necessarily know that your ID is fake, and then they serve you, they can also be found liable for serving an underage person. So, you’re jeopardizing yourself, as well as the business, they’re jeopardizing their liquor license,” Corporal Douglas said.

Corporal Douglas added there will be an increased police presence around Christmas and New Years in the area.
