Pair arrested for mail theft in Kent Co.
KENT CO., Del. – Two people were arrested Tuesday night on mail theft charges.
At around 10:15 p.m., troopers were called to the area of Wood Duck Lane in Camden-Wyoming for a report of suspicious individuals in a white Chevrolet Tahoe driving through the neighborhood and checking mailboxes. Troopers found the Tahoe on Hazletville Road and initiated a traffic stop, making contact with the driver, identified as Mark Morris, passenger, identified as Aaliyah Coleman, and a child. While speaking with the pair, troopers reportedly saw several mail envelopes and packages on the floorboard.
A further search of the vehicle led to the discovery of more envelopes and packages with the names and addresses of victims who live on Hazletville Road and in the community of Wild Quail Golf and Country Club.
The pair were each charged with five counts of theft less than $1500 where the victim is older than 62 years of age, second degree conspiracy, four counts of theft less than $1500, endangering the welfare of a child, and traffic offenses. Both were released on their own recognizance.
