Ocean View man arrested for third DUI

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – An Ocean View man was arrested on numerous charges stemming from an investigation that began early Friday morning.

Just after 1 a.m., a Delaware State Police trooper on patrol observed a white Chevrolet Express van parked for an extended period of time at a gas pump at the Wawa located at 30155 Veterans Way. The trooper stopped to check on the driver, identified as 44-year-old Ian McIntyre, who appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running. After noting signs of impairment, standard field sobriety tests were conducted, at which time troopers saw a straw with a white powdery substance in plain view on the driver’s floorboard. A subsequent search of McIntyre’s person led to the recovery of 139 bags (approximately .973 grams) of heroin, a small plastic bag with approximately 1.36 grams of methamphetamine, a psilocybin mushroom bar weighing approximately 8.49 grams, and various drug paraphernalia.

McIntyre was held at SCI on an $11,000 secured bond on numerous charges, including third offense DUI.
