M.D. Route 90 lane closure for fixing pipe near Berlin
OCEAN GATEWAY, Md. – Crews are getting to work on fixing a pipe along M.D. Route 90 for drainage improvement.
Maryland State Highway administration Spokesperson Charlie Gischlar says they are looking to take advantage of the reduced traffic during the off season.
That work can require lanes along ocean gateway to be closed.
Construction will mostly take place near Berlin.
Residents should be sure to depart a few minutes earlier to account for traffic.
“These drainage structures are also starting to show their age, just like the roadways are.”
“So, it is important for us to get in there and keep up with the maintenance,” Gischlar said. “That way we can get further drainage activity as we get into the winter months here.”
Concrete barriers will be put in place to keep the workers safe during construction.
Drivers should use caution and follow the speed limit when passing through the work zones.
