Local animal shelter calls on community to help brighten Christmas

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – It’s not just humans that are deserving of Christmas gifts this holiday season. Animals are, too.

The Humane Society of Wicomico County is calling on locals to help brighten up the Christmas of sheltered animals.

Event and community relations coordinator, Whitney Hoffman, said simple food donations can ensure a shelter animal eats during the holidays, and some new toys can brighten up their day.

“Our top need donation right now is wet cat food and dog food,” Hoffman said. “We could always use toys, blankets and towels, anything you think the cats and dogs could use, we would appreciate it.”
