Laurel School District announces new dress code for school events

LAUREL, Del. – The Laurel School District has announced a new dress code for school events, effective immediately.

The new policy forbids anyone from attending from wearing ski masks, face masks, balaclava masks, or any other face covering on school property during school events. Signs will be posted as a reminder prior to the entrance, and staff will be on-hand to remind guests at the door if needed.

This dress code does not apply to masks designed as COVID precautions, masks that have medical necessity, or masks required for religious purposes. These situations will be addressed by school staff on a case-by-case basis.
