Jim Berkman inducted into coaches hall of fame
SALISBURY, Md. – Jim Berkman has been named the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, or USILA, Division-III Coach of the Year. It’s the fourth time Berkman has won the honor.
This coming after the Gulls won their 13th national championship in program history.
Berkman is the NCAA’s all time winningest men’s lacrosse coach. He has 620 career, the only coach ever with more than 500 or 600 wins, and has tied that most wins in a season ever four times with 23.
This comes as Berkman is in Florida this weekend set to be inducted into the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) Hall of Fame Saturday.
The 2013 inductee into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame has guided the Sea Gulls to 35 conference championships and 34 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances dating back to 1989, and the career accomplishments and honors are never ending it seems for Berkman.
