Innovative primary care for all workers of Queen Anne’s County
QUEEN ANNE’S COUNTY, Md. – Queen Anne’s County Commissioners and the school board have started an innovative form of primary care for all workers of the county.
The primary care office is specific to county employees and teachers where they have their own physician for quality health care.
CEO of the Maryland State Medical Society Gene Ransom says one of the biggest shortages on the Eastern Shore is primary care physicians.
“Access to primary care is very challenging on the Eastern Shore and by doing this, this large government insurance plan is guaranteeing that those teachers and those county workers have access to a physician when they need it.”
Ransom says the wait time for primary care physicians can be months and by creating access to quality health care it helps the workers.
