Homicide investigation underway following shooting in Accomack Co.

PAINTER, Va. – The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office is actively conducting a homicide investigation.

At around 3:45 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to the 31000 block of Keller Pond Road in Painter for a report of gunshot victims. Police arrived at the scene to find a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The woman, identified as 24-year-old Aaliyah Collick, was pronounced dead at the scene.
