Fruitland Police Department gives tips to keep your Christmas gifts safe

DELMARVA. – If you still have some Christmas shopping to do, the Fruitland Police Department has some tips to keep your gifts safe in your car.

When out shopping, you may want to store your items in your car in between trips. But corporal Zach Douglas said that can make you a target for a smash and grab.

He said taking precautionary steps, like storing your gifts in hidden spots, and locking your car doors, prevent an incident.

This ensures your loved ones have gifts to open up on Christmas morning.

“If you have a sedan, put your gifts in the trunk, and lock your trunk,” corporal Douglas said. “If you have an SUV or pick up with a bed cover, make sure that’s all covering all of your stuff. Or before you go to your next, store just drop it off at home.”
