BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – Parts of Bridgeville are experiencing flooding Monday morning as a result of heavy rains overnight.

The Bridgeville Branch has swollen and flooded areas in the flood zone around N. Cannon Street. The road will be blocked off to all access until the water recedes.

Town officials have noted the following additional areas to avoid:

  • The entrance leading to Earlee Avenue and construction at Heritage Shores from the intersection of Jacobs and S. Cannon is also blocked
  • There is some water near the 200 block of Railroad Avenue, although it’s not as deep
  • Alleys may be flooded; motorists are urged to stick to roadways

Motorists are reminded that they should not attempt driving through standing water, no matter how shallow they think it may be.
