Families have a jolly time at the first Frosty Festival

WICOMICO COUNTY. – It’s not Frosty the Snowman, it’s the Frosty Family Festival, and it made an appearance at the Wicomico County Civic Center for the first time ever.

“It feels so good to come to life, and the preparations and all the work paid off,” said Civic Center building manager, Chelsey Jones. “Just watching everyone walk in with smiling faces and the excitement when they see the arena.”

Wanting to bring holiday cheer to the community, Jones said she and her team have been planning the event since the summer, and she said she’s happy with the turnout.

“Back in August, we started planning this and we put it together,” Jones said. “Watching it come to life for the first time is just incredible.”

With the gloomy weather this weekend, Bridget Burkhead said having that indoor option makes a world of a difference, when you’re trying to show the kiddos a good time.

“You can come out and have fun and you don’t have to sit in the house when it’s raining out. Cause who wants to do that?” Burkhead said.
