Downtown Salisbury gears up for annual New Years ball drop

SALISBURY, Md. – There’s only one week left until New Years, and the city of Salisbury has something fun in store for the holiday.

The New Years ball drop will take place on the plaza, and people look forward to the event every year.

Marketing and outreach manager for the city of Salisbury, Vanessa Junkin, said the annual event is a fun way to get families out of the house and on to the plaza.

The ball drop will also give people the perfect opportunity to check out some of the stores and restaurants that Downtown Salisbury has to offer.

“The ball drop is going to be on December 31st. It starts at 9pm and goes until 12:30 the next morning, into 2024,” Junkin said. “The stage is going to be down on Division Street, near the government office building, and we’re going to have live music and we’re going to have food vendors.”
