Berlin home heavily damaged in accidental fire

BERLIN, Md. – A fire that broke out in Berlin Monday morning has been ruled accidental.

Firefighters responded to 10849 Saint Martins Road just after 11 a.m. for a reported house fire. Crews were able to quickly control the blaze and remained at the scene for roughly 90 minutes to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

Worcester County Fire Marshals responded to the scene to investigate, determining that the fire began in the family room and was caused by faulty electrical wiring.

No injuries were reported. The three residents are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
