Wicomico Co. Library hosts kid-friendly around the world event

SALISBURY, Md. – The Wicomico County Public Library held a community event, Saturday, geared towards kids.

‘Around the World in 12 Holidays’ is a yearlong event that children can participate in, to gain more awareness on different cultures.

Attendees are given a mock-passport that will be stamped every time they attend the activity. Library circulation assistant, Victoria Talbott, said it’s a great way to expose kids to different cultures, showing them all the different things that countries around the world have to offer.

“The goal of this program is to encourage people to think globally, and understand everyone’s culture that is around us,” Talbott said. “It’s the first step in appreciating everyone who lives around you.”
